F.A.Q.
What does bath tea do for your body?
A tea bath is a natural way to nourish your skin, relax your muscles, and calm your mind. The warm water opens your pores, allowing your skin to absorb the botanical benefits of herbs, flowers, and teas much faster than when consumed as a drink. Studies show that herbal baths can help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, soothe skin conditions, and promote deep relaxation. Unlike commercial bath products that contain artificial fragrances and dyes, our tea baths are made with pure, organic botanicals that deliver real therapeutic benefits – without irritation. Bathing with herbs is a centuries-old practice, and we bring it back in a way that feels both intentional and indulgent.
Always check with a medical professional before using new herbs, especially if you have sensitive skin, allergies, or are pregnant.
How did Galene Bathhouse start?
Galene Bathhouse was born out of my own journey of healing. After years of chasing success, running my first business, and navigating motherhood, I found myself exhausted and disconnected. One night, I instinctively steeped tea leaves and herbs into my bath – the same ones I used to drink for comfort. The warmth, the scent, the slow unfolding of the botanicals in the water – it felt like a ritual, a moment of peace I hadn’t given myself in years. That experience became a practice, and that practice became Galene Bathhouse – a way to help others reconnect with themselves through the simple, powerful act of bathing.
What is your sourcing philosophy?
At Galene Bathhouse, we believe that what we put on our skin should be as pure as what we put in our bodies. Our ingredients are ethically sourced from trusted growers, chosen for their purity, potency, and sustainability. We work with suppliers who share our commitment to the environment – those who honor traditional cultivation methods, use responsible harvesting practices, and prioritize soil health. Our botanicals are free from pesticides, artificial fragrances, and unnecessary additives, ensuring that your bath is clean, natural, and deeply nourishing.
We also keep our packaging minimal and eco-conscious, reducing waste wherever possible. Self-care should never come at the planet’s expense.
What is the shelf life of my bath tea?
For the best experience, we recommend using your bath tea within two years. Over time, the potency of dried botanicals can fade, especially the delicate aromatics that make your bath deeply immersive. While your bath tea is still safe to use beyond this time, using it sooner ensures you get the most from the natural oils and plant compounds infused in each blend.
To extend freshness, store your bath tea in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Can I send my order as a gift?
Absolutely! Our tea baths make a thoughtful gift for anyone in need of relaxation and self-care. Whether it’s a birthday, a special occasion, or just a way to remind someone to slow down, we offer gift-ready packaging with no pricing included in the order.
For customized orders or gift notes, please check our gift options section for more details.
Can you reuse bath tea?
No, we do not recommend reusing bath tea to avoid the risk of bacterial contamination. Once the herbs have been steeped, their beneficial compounds have already been released into the water, and reusing them may reduce effectiveness. However, you can portion your bath tea according to your preferences and split it into multiple uses if desired.
Is having a bath sustainable?
Baths are an indulgence, and we acknowledge that they use more water than a quick shower. However, self-care is about balance – just like the occasional luxury of a spa day, a bath can be a way to recharge both physically and mentally. Being environmentally conscious in other areas of your life – reducing plastic waste, using eco-friendly products, and conserving water when possible – can allow you to enjoy a guilt-free, intentional bathing experience.
We also encourage using natural, biodegradable ingredients – like those in our tea baths – rather than synthetic bath products that contribute to water pollution.
If you're unfamiliar with any ingredient in our blends, we recommend doing a skin patch test before use. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your healthcare provider before using herbal bath products.
Are your products pregnancy-safe?
We recommend doing your own research and consulting your healthcare provider before using any of our products during pregnancy or postpartum. Every woman’s body responds differently to botanical ingredients, and some herbs may not be suitable during pregnancy. While we only use pure, natural botanicals, we encourage you to listen to your own body, intuition, and medical guidance when choosing self-care products.
How should I store your products?
To maintain freshness, keep your bath tea in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid storing them in humid areas like the bathroom, as exposure to heat and moisture can degrade the potency of the herbs over time. A glass jar or resealable pouch in a cupboard or pantry is ideal.
Will tea stain my bathtub?
Tea is a natural coloring agent, and while it typically does not stain bathtubs, we recommend rinsing your tub after use. If you have an older bathtub with porous or deteriorating material, there is a small chance that natural pigments may leave a slight tint. To minimize any potential staining, simply wipe down or rinse the tub with warm water after your bath.
How does this affect my skin’s pH level?
Our bath teas are formulated to be gentle and pH-balanced, using only botanicals, minerals, and clays – without baking soda, synthetic fragrances, or harsh foaming agents that could disrupt your skin’s barrier. Herbs like chamomile, calendula, and green tea have soothing, pH-neutral properties that help support skin hydration and balance rather than stripping it of moisture.
However, as with any product, individual skin reactions may vary. If you have extremely sensitive skin, we recommend doing a patch test before your first bath.

Can people with sensitive skin use this?
Yes! Our bath teas contain no artificial fragrances, synthetic colors, or harsh irritants, making them suitable for sensitive skin, including those prone to eczema and dryness. Many of our ingredients, like oats, calendula, and chamomile, are known for their soothing, anti-inflammatory properties.
That said, if you have allergies or highly reactive skin, we always recommend checking the ingredient list and doing a patch test before use.
How do I prepare my Galene Bathhouse Tea Bath?
- Choose your strength – Each Galene Bath Blend can be used up to four times, depending on your preference. For a full-strength experience, use the entire blend, or portion it into multiple uses. Store any remaining blend in a sealed jar.
- Steep your bath tea – Fill the provided steeping bag with the bath blend and tie it securely. Place it in a bowl of boiling water (3–4L) and steep for 8 minutes, pressing down occasionally to release the botanicals' scent and nutrients.
- Prepare your bath – While your tea is steeping, fill the bathtub with hot water. Adjust the temperature by adding cool water to suit your comfort level.
- Pour and soak – After steeping, pour the entire tea-infused mixture (including the steeping bag) into your bath. The botanicals will continue to infuse the water, enhancing your experience as you soak.
Does bath tea affect water temperature or blood pressure?
Yes, hot water can lower blood pressure, so it’s important to hydrate before and after your bath. Always test the water temperature before getting in to avoid overheating.
Are there any precautions I should take?
- Hot Water Sensitivity – Bathing in hot water can lower blood pressure, so be sure to hydrate before and after your bath and test the water temperature before stepping in.
- Staining – Tea is a natural coloring agent. While it typically does not stain bathtubs, it’s best to rinse your tub immediately after use to prevent any discoloration.
- Allergies & Pregnancy – If you have sensitive skin, allergies, or are pregnant, consult your doctor before using herbal bath products and perform a patch test before your first soak.
